Schools and community
Broome Bird Observatory plays a pivotal role in the nature education of students in the Broome Region and is regularly visited by schools from across the Broome area and beyond. Wardens from the BBO visit schools on a regular basis to talk about birds, the magic of nature and conservation. more.

Courses and workshops
Four times a year, bird enthusiasts from across the world visit the Observatory to participate in our popular shorebird courses. The courses are comprised of a variety of engaging workshops and discourses along with tours of the amazing Broome region. Courses and workshops for local residents, such as "Celebrate the Bay Day" have proven popular with the Broome community. more.

Radio and television
Getting the conservation message out across the Kimberley is an important part of the Observatory's activities. Wardens from the BBO make frequent appearances on local radio and television to help keep the community informed and enthusiastic abuot the natural treasures of the region.
